Research sample included 158 cardiovascular patients that were chosen through access sampling method. Measurement instruments included the scale of general adherence and special adherence, short form of disease perception, social support and coping strategies questionnaires. Data were analyzed by multiple correlation and step by step regression methods.

Also, there was a 0.27 significant relationship between problems concentrated coping strategy and a -0.31 significant relationship between emotion concentrated coping strategy with specialized adherence to treatment (p < 0.01), but there was no significant relationship between specialized adherence to treatment with other research variables (p>0.05). Moreover, results of regression analysis showed that social support (16%) and coping strategies (32%) predict adherence to treatment among cardiovascular patients (p < 0.01).
